12 per cent of Brits are intending to escape the Olympics in 2012 by heading off on a holiday abroad, according to new research.

The Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA) has released a list of its travel predictions for 2012, including a list of destinations it expects to attract increased numbers of visitors in the coming year.

Ski resorts across Europe and the US have welcomed the first major snowfall of the year, as ABTA launched a campaign to encourage skiers to get appropriate travel insurance for their trips.
